Companies with a diverse workforce are 33% more innovative and productive than their more homogeneous counterparts. However, there are some industries that are still characterized by lack of diversity, despite efforts to recruit talent from a wide range of demographics.
The tech industry in particular has faced challenges in recruiting employees from certain demographics. In fact, just 7 percent of the high-tech U.S. workforce is Black. Although As of 2018, only 2% of Google’s workforce is black and 3% of Twitter’s workforce is black.
